Weezer Breaks Up

Popular musical group Weezer announced earlier this month that they are breaking up. Rivers Cuomo, front man, assured the press that it was not due to bad feelings between band mates Matt Sharp (bass) and Patrick Wilson (drums). After graduating from Harvard and marrying long time girlfriend, Kyoko Ito, last month Cuomo felt that he was ready for something else.

HIP Book Reviews

Each summer the Health Information Project (HIP) hires local area teens to review new movies and books related to teen health issues. User-friendly book reviews have been added to their website located at http://hip.midhudson.org/hip_bookreviews.htm . Find a book we should add to the collection? Let me know.

Read-A-Ton Update

As of today the town has read and weighed 448 pounds and a few odd ounces. I know lots of you out there are reading and just dropping your books in the return box outside. Be brave--weigh your books. You can win wonderful prizes and dunk the director!

Read-A-Ton Update

As of July 8th, 155 pounds and 9 ounces have been read by the Town of Esopus. This is a respectable start, but in order to Dunk the Director the town must read double that for the next six weeks. Remember, newspapers, comics, even printed e-mails can be weighed!

Friday Volunteers

Thanks to those of you who came last Friday to help out with the children's program. We can always use more hands, so if you are free Friday evenings at 6pm, meet us at Freer Park/Town Beach. Volunteers help with crafts and games, and get to enjoy free snacks and entertainment.
