2006 Video Music Awards

The VMA's air tonight at 8pm. Hosted by Jack Black this MTV event will also feature performances by Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Panic! At the Disco, T.I., The Killers, OK Go, Ludacris with Pharrell, The All-American Rejects, and The Raconteurs. New this year, Overdrive (MTV's broadband channel) will be presenting VMA Live: Backstage & Uncensored. It promises to be entertaining.

Dunking Tomorrow

Tuesday, August 22nd starting at 5:30pm participants in the Summer Reading Program will be able to Dunk the Director at the Library's Annual Community Picnic. Come and take a shot!

BOB Schedule Update

Here is the Battle of the Books schedule for August.

August 12--practice 1-3pm
August 19--no practice
August 26--local battle at MHLS Auditorium in Poughkeepsie at 1pm

Don't forget the Regional Battle is Saturday, September 16th at 1pm!!

Also, for those of you that can't make the meetings feel free to post your comments and questions about the books here. Try to write the questions so that the answer is the title/author of the book.

Upcoming Albums

Audioslave will be releasing its latest album, Revelations, on September 5th. The Open Door by Evanescence will be in stores October 3rd. The fist single from the album, Call Me When You're Sober, can be heard on the radio now and the accompanying video will premiere on MTV on Monday, August 7th.
