Celebrity News

CNN has verified that Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey from MTV's Newlyweds are separated. The tabloids were right. Also, Pat Morita, also known as Mr. Miyagi from Karate Kid, has died. If you've never seen the Karate Kid movies, you should, they're classic 80's cheese.

Battle of the Books '06

Here's an update on BOB '06. We have had our first meeting and there are quit a few new libraries interested. I was sure to voice our concern over some of the rules, but no decisions have been made as of yet. We also are in the process of choosing titles for next year, so if there is a book you think would be good for the competition, please post the title and author. Rememeber that it must be available in paperback--to keep costs down. Also, if there are students out there now in fifth grade that think they might be interested in participating this coming year, you can start by reading last year's selections. They were all fairly well received, though some complained about Hatchet and Witness. A complete list of titles can be found at the library or by going to http://midhudson.org/department/youth/BOB_Books.htm. This is not a requirement, but might be helpful.

Happy holidays everyone!
